An ovarian cyst is a closed baglike mass formed inside the ovary. An ovarian cyst develops during the menstrual cycle. Most cysts working as part of the process of menstruation - and these are called functional cysts. That occur during ovulation, and even disappear after a period of time. Simple cyst containing liquid or solid material when the egg is released during ovulation. Cysts can cause bleeding and pain, but can be treated with surgery.
